KGFA Marks 130 Years at Annual Meeting

Highlighted by strong attendance, timely discussion and continued engagement across the industry, Kansas Grain and Feed Association (KGFA) celebrated its 130th annual meeting April 21, 2026, in Wichita.

The annual event brought together approximately 200 of KGFA’s active, capacity and associate members to review the past year and hear updates on the issues impacting the grain and feed industry.

During the meeting, KGFA leadership outlined the association’s work during the 2025 and 2026 legislative sessions. Advocacy efforts focused on key priorities including property tax policy, regulatory oversight, utility costs, water funding and maintaining access to essential agricultural inputs.

KGFA also highlighted its continued investment in education and workforce development, including training programs, safety courses and leadership development through Tomorrow’s Agribusiness Leaders.

The association completed its annual business meeting, including a report on membership activities, financial status and board of director elections. The membership elected Brent Boyd, Pride Ag Resources and Shane Eck Pawnee County Cooperative Association as new nominees to the board of directors, while Ted Behring, Farmers Cooperative Equity Co. (Isabel) and Doug Biswell, Jackson Farmers Inc., were re-elected to renewed terms.

Throughout the event, members had opportunities to connect and engage during scheduled sessions and informal gatherings.

The meeting also featured presentations on commodity markets and public policy from Arlan Suderman and Kansas Secretary of State and 2026 gubernatorial candidate Scott Schwab.

As KGFA marks 130 years, association leadership emphasized the importance of continued engagement and long-term planning to ensure the organization remains a strong voice for Kansas agribusiness.

The event concluded with the annual golf tournament at Terradyne Country Club, where more than 100 golfers participated.

Tuesday, April 21, 2026
Wichita, Kansas

Chairman Andrew Fullerton called the 130th annual meeting of the Kansas Grain and Feed Association (KGFA) to order at 9:00 a.m., (CST).

Fullerton declared a quorum of the members participating in the meeting as required by the KGFA bylaws.

Fullerton requested a nominating report from former chairman Brent Emch. Emch presented the nominating report and slate of candidates. The following were nominated for election to the KGFA Board of Directors for 2026.

Re-election

  1. Ted Behring (Farmers Cooperative Equity Co., Isabel)
  2. Doug Biswell (Jackson Farmers Inc.)

New Nominees

  1. Brent Boyd (Pride Ag Resources)
  2. Shane Eck (Pawnee County Cooperative Association)

Fullerton asked KGFA President and CEO Ron Seeber if there were any additional nominations, pursuant to the bylaws. There being none, a motion was made and seconded to approve the candidates as presented. Motion passed.

Fullerton asked if there was any new or old business to be discussed. There being none, a motion was made and seconded to conclude the business portion of the annual meeting. Motion passed.

Fullerton gave a report on the association’s activities in 2025, including member services, the association expo and other programs.

Seeber thanked KGFA sponsors, reviewed the membership status of the association, gave a financial report and provided an overview of all KGFA activities.

Keynote speakers included Aaron Gelb, Arlan Suderman and Kansas Secretary of State Scott Schwab.

KGFA bestowed the Sunflower Award to Jerald Kemmerer.

The annual meeting was adjourned at 11:34 a.m.
