Kansas Agriculture at the USMCA Table

October 22, 2026 | Kansas State University Olathe

Kansas Grain and Feed Association (KGFA) President and CEO Ron Seeber participated in a roundtable discussion with Congresswoman Sharice Davids and Kansas agricultural leaders on the importance of trade with Canada and Mexico to Kansas agriculture.

Canada and Mexico are important markets for Kansas agricultural products. The roundtable examined the role of North American trade in the state’s agricultural economy and the potential effects of trade uncertainty on producers, agribusinesses and rural communities.

Farmers for Free Trade planned to release new Kansas-specific data on agricultural trade with Canada and Mexico during the discussion. The event came as the United States, Canada and Mexico undertook the 2026 joint review of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).

Roundtable Participants

Participants included Ron Seeber, President and CEO of KGFA, the Kansas Agribusiness Retailers Association and Renew Kansas Biofuels Association, and Congresswoman Sharice Davids, who represents Kansas’ 3rd Congressional District.

Other participants included representatives of the Fresh Produce Association of the Americas, Agricultural Business Council of Kansas City, World Trade Center–Kansas City, Kansas Corn Growers Association, Kansas Soybean Association, Kansas Sorghum Producers and Kansas Farm Bureau.

About the USMCA Review

The USMCA governs trade among the United States, Canada and Mexico. Its 2026 joint review will help determine the agreement’s future and has implications for businesses and agricultural producers across North America.
