Kansas Grain and Feed Association Welcomes Reopening of Rail Corridors at Eagle Pass and El Paso

Kansas Grain and Feed Association (KGFA) welcomes the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol’s (CBP) decision to re-open rail corridor crossings at Eagle Pass, Texas and El Paso, Texas on Dec. 22, 2023.

“We are appreciative of our membership for quickly responding to our calls for action to alert our congressional delegation and ultimately the Biden Administration of the detrimental effects these closures ended up having on the industry,” KGFA President and CEO Ron Seeber said. “We are pleased CBP has re-opened these crossings to allow the free flow trade of agricultural goods and we continue to urge for a plan to prevent this situation from happening again.”

When announcements of the closure were made public earlier this week, KGFA maintained frequent communication with the Kansas congressional delegation and Governor Laura Kelly on quickly finding a solution to the important issue.
