About Curtis Stahel
Curtis Stahel is the Safety Director at Ag Partners Cooperative, Inc. in Seneca, Kansas, a position he has held for the past eight years. In this role, he oversees all training, safety, and regulatory compliance activities for the Cooperative’s grain, agronomy, and energy business units.
Prior to joining Ag Partners Cooperative, Curtis served as an Ag Services, LLC Safety Director at ProValue Insurance for 18 years and previously worked with the Kansas Department of Agriculture for nine years. His entire professional career has been dedicated to safety within the agricultural industry.
Curtis is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), a professional credential he has maintained since 2012. He and his wife have three grown children.

He is an active member of the National Grain and Feed Association, Grain Elevator and Processing Society, Ohio Risk Coordinators, National Fire Protection Association, and American Society of Safety Professionals.
Joe is also a co-owner of Safety Made Simple, based in Olathe, Kansas. Safety Made Simple provides online training courses designed for the Ag industry.

About Jess McCluer
Jess McCluer is the Senior Vice President, Safety and Regulatory for the National Grain and Feed Association (NGFA). He is responsible for directing and managing the NGFA’s wide-ranging operations programs for grain elevators, feed mills and grain processing plants. This includes NGFA’s activities regarding employee safety and industrial health, environmental issues, grain-handling facility design and equipment, grain inspection and weighing issues, grain and feed quality, crop technology, trade and agroterrorism/facility security related issues.
Jess also serves as Chairman of the Department of Homeland Security, Food and Drug Administration and the US Department of Agriculture’s Food and Agriculture Sector Coordinating Council and represents NGFA on the USDA’s Agricultural Trade Advisory Committee for Trade in Grains, Feed, Oilseeds, and Planting Seeds. The Journal of Agromedicine selected Jess as its 2021 “Leader in the Field.” The annual award is for those who have made significant contributions in agricultural safety and health practice, policy, and research.
