Grain Grading School – February 20, Topeka
$75.00 – $100.00
Propane Marketers Association
540 NW Broad St, Topeka, KS 66608
Classes are available to teach elevator operators, producers, brokers and grain buyers about grain grades and how to use grain standards in marketing. We also train participants to recognize various types of kernel damage and grade a representative sample. We encourage use of practical, cost effective procedures for grain inspection and introduce sampling methods and techniques pertaining to grain grading and/or grain quality.
Participant’s interest at each location will determine which grains or oilseeds are discussed. If you have a particular interest please contact Samantha Tenpenny at firstname.lastname@example.org. Best efforts will be made to accommodate interest. Successful grain marketing depends upon a uniform standard for measuring grain and oilseed quality. After attending these schools, participants will assess grain quality and its market value more accurately. Educational materials supplied at these schools includes a grain grading handbook with color pictures depicting grain damage, samples of grain with different types of damage and grading equipment. KGIS Inspectors will instruct participants in grading procedures.
