Grain Industry Awards $10,500 in College Scholarships

The Kansas Grain and Feed Association (KGFA) has chosen the following 12 Kansas high school seniors to receive college scholarships for the 2015-2016 school year:

Kyle Becker, Lancaster – to study Agronomy at Kansas State University
Clarence Allemand, El Dorado – to study Mechanical Engineering at Kansas State University
Jacqueline Clason, Meade – to study Agricultural Economics at Kansas State University
Morgan Gantz, Perry – to study Agriculture at Cloud County Community College
Casey Jensen, Courtland – to study Ag Business at Ft. Hays State University
Nikole Cain, Allen – to study Agricultural Education at Kansas State University
Samuel Davis, Madison – to study Animal Science at Kansas State University
Kaitlyn Dinges, Ness City to study Marketing and Agricultural Business at Ft. Hays State University
Jerica Hall, Independence – to study Agricultural Education at Kansas State University
Michael McKinney, McPherson – to study Agriculture at Kansas State University
Tyler Marr, Formoso – to study Agronomy at Cloud County Community College
Braden Mishler, Arnold – to study Biological Systems Engineering at Kansas State University

KGFA received 128 applications that were considered by an independent Scholarship Selection Committee made up of association members.

Each year, KGFA awards one $500 Dub & Inez Johnson Memorial scholarship, four $500 KGFA scholarships and seven $1,000 KGFA scholarships. KGFA also awards one $1,000 John Cranor Memorial scholarship, whose winner is selected by the Kansas State University Foundation.
